After much expectation, the 'Harry Potter: Return To Hogwarts' happened reuniting most of the beloved actors and actresses to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise. We got to see Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint together again after the last movie was released back in 2011.

While many were the Harry Potter stars that attended the special reunion, interrogatives arose when some of the actors did not attend the Harry Potter reunion. A clear example was Julie Walters who portrayed Molly Weasley who did not attend due to health issues since she was diagnosed with cancer, or Maggie Smith who did not reveal why she did not attend but was an essential part of the saga after playing Professor Minerva McGonagall in all the films.

Having said this, if you watched the Harry Potter reunion you must have noticed that Michael Gambon who played Albus Dumbledore did not attend the Harry Potter reunion. Fans were outraged by this thinking that he was snubbed or probably thinking that he was not invited, but what most people do not realize is that he revealed in previous years that he had some health problems too.

The Irish actor Michael Gambon is 81 years old, which does not mean that because of his age has to be ill (let's hope not) but he revealed in an interview that he had to step away after dealing with some memory loss struggles.

Michael Gambon played Albus Dumbledore, Hogwarts headmaster in six of the eight movies. However, he has a long and fruitful acting career. Michael Gambon has won four BAFTA Awards and three Olivier Awards. Sadly, back in 2015, he revealed in an interview to The Sunday Times Magazine that he was struggling with memory loss.

“It’s a horrible thing to admit but I can’t do it. It breaks my heart. It’s when the script’s in front of me and it takes forever to learn. It’s frightening,” Michael Gambon declared, hinting that he was afraid of suffering Alzheimer's disease.

In fact, Michael Gambon and his memory loss started years ago. According to The Guardian, back in 2009, he was taken by ambulance from rehearsals at the National Theatre to A&E at St Thomas’s hospital in London, twice, after panic attacks after he forgot his lines.

Nevertheless, many good memories of Michael Gambon could be mentioned. There was one time where he declared that little kids spied him when drinking his morning coffee “It’s very odd,” Gambon said “I hadn’t realized before just how powerful these things are. I just do the job and go home and you forget it”

Or that one time he compared Albus Dumbledore to his other roles. .“I’ve played quite a lot of crooks and killers, and that’s quite interesting,” says Gambon. “Then Dumbledore is the complete opposite, isn’t he? He’s a nice old man.”

The most amazing part is that back in 2016 Michael Gambon shared his thoughts about The Fantastic Beasts films and showed enthusiasm about wanting to make a little cameo in it.

"I want to be in it, yes. They've got a Dumbledore. They'll have a young Dumbledore, won't they? But I could be his dad. They could flashback to me. Can you mention it to "I want to be in it, yes. They've got a Dumbledore. They'll have a young Dumbledore, won't they? But I could be his dad. They could flashback to me. Can you mention it to the movie producers if you see them? I'd like to be his dad."
