Finally! After it was revealed that a prequel about Willy Wonka was in the works, fans went into a frenzy since it was also announced that the one and only Timothee Chalamet was the one to portray the beloved owner of the Wonka Chocolate Factory.

Timothée Chalamet shared the first look on his social media where his more than 13 million fans and followers were left amazed by his looks. In the snap, we can see him wearing the characteristic outfit of the character, a purplish coat and a top hat while snowflakes swirl around him. "The suspense is terrible, I  hope it will last … WONKA" Chalamet captioned two Instagram photos.

Fans loved the attire and the look and made him know this in his comment section. I have never been so excited for anything,” one fan wrote while another added, “OMG TIMOTHEE WONKA IM SO EXCITED.” Even some of his famous friends wrote their astonishment. “Absolutely,” Zendaya commented. Kiernan Shipka simply wrote, “OH MY GOD.” “All about this x,” Rebel Wilson added.

The new film, titled Wonka, is focused on a young Willy Wonka and his adventures before he created the chocolate factory. It has also been revealed that the actor will show off his singing and dancing skills for the first time in this movie. While plot details are unknown, the new pic will be an origin tale of the character and mark the first time Charlie Bucket will not be featured. Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, Keegan-Michael Key, and Olivia Colman are set to star in the film.

This will mark the third time that Warner Bros takes the Willy Wonka story to the screen. Previously we saw Gene Wilder as Wonka back in 1971 and the second time was thanks to Johnny Depp in 2005. Paul King is directing the upcoming film written by Simon Rich and produced by David Heyman. The story, co-written by King, "will focus on a young Willy Wonka and his adventures before opening the world’s most famous chocolate factory."

Back in 2018 Heyman spoke with Collider and gave some glimpses of the story. "What makes Willy — when we find him at the chocolate factory doing the golden ticket, where is he before that?" Heyman said. What leads him to that place where he's locked himself away? … It's, 'How does he get there?' So we're playing around with that."

Earlier this year members of the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory spoke with People and revealed they are very excited about this new project. "You can't kill the Willy Wonka story," said Peter Ostrum, who originally played Charlie Bucket. "So all of it is good. It's a great story. And people enjoy whatever different version they're watching; it's fun to watch."
