Scream 5 (Paramount)

The first trailer of Scream 5 has been released and with it, Ghostface is back to terrorize the neighborhood., In fact, it looks like not only does he kill people but manages masterfully all technological devices.

A two-minute trailer has been released of the fifth installment of the movie, which by the way is only titled 'Scream' and it will be released on Jan. 14. 2022. We will be seeing the return of Neve CampbellCourteney Cox, and David Arquette reprising the roles they portrayed in the first four films so to say that the fans are more than excited would be an understatement.

The trailer might give you some nostalgic vibes since it starts just like the previous ones, with a phone call and a girl escaping from Ghostface, the masked serial killer we all fear. In the trailer we see Tara texting her friend 'Amber' but at some point, she reads  'This isn't Amber.' Terror unleashes and persecution follows.

Here we see a bunch of new rising stars and in the lead role, we have Disney alum Jenna Ortega alongside  “13 Reasons Why” actor, Dylan Minnette and Jack Quaid who you might remember from “Star Trek: Lower Decks” but also for being Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan’s son. Later in the trailer, we see Neve Campbell answering her phone and we bet you got the chills when she said “I’m Sidney Prescott, of course, I have a gun.” And almost at the end of the trailer we see her confront Ghostface (obviously) "Hello Sidney, it's an honor" Ghostface says.

Scream 5 is the first movie since the last one was released back in 2011 but also, Scream 5 is the first ccone since the director of the previous ones, Wes Craven died. About coming back to reprise his role, David Arquette revealed to Collider that the whole experience is quite interesting but sad at the same time.

“There are not a lot of films that me as an actor have been a part of that span 24 years — 25 by the time it comes out — so it's been really interesting. It's incredibly sad not having Wes here. It's definitely an interesting experience. It's bringing up a lot of emotions.”

The actor, who by the way is Courteney Cox's ex-husband, says that to inspire himself and go back to the role of Dewey, he is listening to music that he listened to back in the first movie. “There's an element of me watching sort of my life flash by in 24 years. Especially the fact that I'm working with this incredible cast and there are so many tremendous actors, and to see them and to sort of see me in them when I was younger is really kind of an interesting experience that I never quite had on a film before.”
