Many things have been said after 'House of Gucci' was premiered. From Lady Gaga's Italian accent that sounded more like Russian, to the anger the real Gucci family felt after watching the movie. However, this time an idea has been planted after Jared Leto revealed that he has been having some thoughts about the movie.
During a recent interview on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show, Jared Leto talked about 'House of Gucci' and how he thought a second movie would be a perfect idea, but instead, it will serve as a prequel to know in a deeper way the story between Paolo Gucci and his dad, Aldo, who was portrayed by Al Pacino.
Talking more specifically about the legend actor, Jared Leto revealed that Al Pacino did not recognize him the first time they met in 'House of Gucci' when Leto was in full makeup and characterized as Paolo Gucci.
Jared Leto admitted that he approached the actor more than three times and Al Pacino did not recognize him until someone else told him that under the makeup and the outfit, was Leto.
"On the first day of set, he didn't know it was me, and I came up to him and said, you know, 'hello.' And he just kind of brushed me off. He thought I was just an Italian weirdo that was trying to talk to him or get his autograph or something," Leto said.
"I come up to him two or three times and someone finally whispered, 'That's Paolo, that's Jared under there.' And he was like, 'My son, my son,' and he fell to the floor. He was just astounded.”
Jared Leto also admitted that Al Pacino's reaction was something spectacular because if he did not recognize him, it meant that he nailed the character. “Having that happen with one of the world's greatest actors was a beautiful gift and gave me the faith that if Al can believe in this guy, then we all can. It was a boost of confidence early on, and I adored working with him." Leto said.
Because Paolo Gucci was a very important role for Jared Leto, the actor previously admitted in an interview with EW that he saw in him someone special and when they had to wrap up filming when finished, he almost cried in front of everyone.
I immediately saw Paolo as a dreamer, the black sheep of his family, someone never really heard... I was successful in holding them back," he said about crying in front of everyone. "I didn't want to embarrass the entire set, but it was a really warm and wonderful experience — collaborative, creative, full of risk and reward, just incredibly special."
