'Wandavision' Tune 'Agatha All Along’ Is So Catchy You Can't Deny It

Even if you have not watched the series, you know about the Marvel Universe and its various super-heroes. Last January, Disney+ gifted us with the long-awaited series 'WandaVision' where we follow the story of the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Vision, played by Paul Bettany.

Something that has caught our attention, quite literally, is the tune played at the end of the seventh episode when is revealed that Agatha, Wanda's nosey neighbor is really a powerful witch and the villain of the series. The tune 'Agatha All Along' has become a Billboard and iTunes hit.

Kathryn Hahn, who plays the evil witch Agatha Harkness, has spoken about it and reveals she is surprised by the warm welcome the song received. "I don't understand it. I know, it's amazing. It's so crazy. Seth, what's happening?" she reacted to Seth Meyers, who asked her about the song's success during a Late Night interview. "I don't have social media, so the whole thing was like filtered down through all this," Hahn continued. "I was like, 'Are you kidding me?!' It's so funny. The whole thing is so bonkers right now." Hahn also revealed that their kids were embarrassed when the actress was rehearsing her witchy moves. “When I was practicing my moves for this particular show, I mean, my children came in and saw me practicing, and it was as if they had seen me just get out of the shower, They were like, ‘Oh, my God! Mom!’ Like, I was practicing my witch moves and they were so embarrassed. I’m just so glad that now they’re suspiciously a little bit nicer to me that I know it’s been landing a little cooler than I thought.”

According to Billboard: "The tune, which plays at the end of the show’s seventh episode, “Breaking the Fourth Wall,” debuts at No. 36 on the Digital Song Sales survey (dated March 6) with 3,000 downloads sold in the tracking week ending Feb. 25, according to MRC Data. It also tallied 1.6 million U.S. streams in that span. The song was released Feb. 23 on the WandaVision: Episode 7 original soundtrack."

"We share the various memes and stuff on TikTok among the cast and crew and writers. It's so wonderful that we made this thing with so much love and passion, and it has been received with so much love and passion by the fans. It's wonderful to see that it's inspired so much interest in the fans," expressed 'WandaVision' director Matt Shakman.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are the ones in charge of writing the songs for 'WandaVision'. The married Oscar-winning couple are also the songwriters of 'Frozen' and 'Coco'. They were approached by Shakman because he needed theme songs for his series, evoking six decades of American Television. They channeled TV shows like “I Love Lucy,” “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” “Family Ties,” and “Malcolm in the Middle,” but also James Bond movies, Burt Bacharach hits, and Dave Brubeck jazz.

For Agatha's song, the couple shared that they wanted something more like 'The Munsters' and 'The Addams Family', where the sax is noticeable.
