Much has been said and rumored about Tristan Thompson after it was revealed that he became a father for the third time. Unfortunately (for him) the mother of his third baby is not Khloé Kardashian with who he already shared daughter True Thompson, but Maralee Nichols, a fitness model he met at a party.
Currently, the NBA star plays for the Sacramento Kings and according to the reports, Tristan Thompson's net worth is estimated to be around $45 million. Having said this and keeping in mind his net worth, it should not come as a surprise that people are now trying to make sums and wonder how much is Tristan Thompson paying Marlee Nichols in child support. You will be really surprised to learn that Maralee Nichols will probably receive around $40,000 monthly.
Tristan Thompson recently admitted via social media that he was the father of Maralee Nichols' baby after a paternity test confirmed this. However, this fact was firstly denied by him declaring that the baby mama was only looking for fame. Tristan Thompson has now three children, Prince Thompson who was born in 2016 to his ex Jordan Craig, True Thompson, Khloé Kardashian's child, and Marlee Nichols' baby.
“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols,” Thompson wrote. “I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.”
However, Tristan was not always so supportive. According to Maralee, Thompson sent her messages urging her to get an abortion and even threatened her from taking legal action. She showed it all in text messages where he also offered Nichols $75,000 to keep her pregnancy a secret before claiming he would soon be “unemployed” after retiring from the NBA in 2022.
Now, according to legal experts who talked with Hollywood Life, Maralee Nichols is not getting just 'hundreds'. Morghan Leia Richardson of Hutcher & Citron LLP in New York City revealed how this process will be taken in order to achieve a good deal.
“In looking at a support award, the court will review both parents’ monthly incomes, and the amount of time that the child spends with each parent,” Richardson shared. “All income, including money/wages, tips, commissions, bonuses, unemployment benefits, interest income, dividend income, rental income, insurance payouts – all of it is fair game for calculating child support,” the lawyer explained.
“For awards where the parties earn extremely high incomes, such as Tristian, the court will plug the numbers into the support calculator, but also consider several other factors. One argument for a larger award would be to ensure that the child has the same or similar lifestyle in both homes.”
How much is Tristan Thompson Paying Marlee Nichols In Child Support?
According to the lawyer, Maralee Nichols will receive an estimated $40,000 per month, a wooping amount compared with Tristan Thompson's first offering.
However, because he is already paying Prince Thompson's manutention, the number will probably be lower than this. “Reports show that his income is about $10mil so based on that number, and the report that he’s paying $40k per month for his son when I run the calculator, I get an estimate of $34k per month,” the lawyer added.
In fact, it could be worse for Tristan since it has not been reported if he s paying Khloé Kardashian's kid or not.
