Dolly Parton demonstrates once again why she is and always will be an icon. The American singer shared on social media one short clip when we can see her wearing an amazing outfit that probably you have seen her wear before but in all honesty, she rocked it like the first time she wore it.
Let's just be clear here. Carl Dean, Dolly Parton's husband is one lucky guy! He turned 79 on July 20th and Dolly, being the sweetest girl ever, gifted him with a unique vision. The singer, who has more than 4 million followers on Insta shared a short clip where we can see her with the amazing outfit: Bunny ears, Bowtie, and strapless bustier. Does it sound like a bell somewhere? Yes! It is the Playboy outfit she wore back in 1978.
“You’re probably wondering why I’m dressed like this,” Parton said “Some time back, I said I was gonna pose for Playboy when I was 75. Well, I’m 75, and they don’t have a magazine anymore. But my husband always loved the original cover [I did] for Playboy, so I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy. He still thinks I’m a hot chick after 57 years, and I’m not gonna try to talk him out of that.”
“What I did for his birthday, I did a little photoshoot,” Parton said. “I had a cover made of the new Dolly. I was kind of a little butterball (in the original). Well, I'm a string cheese now, but he’ll probably think I’m cream cheese. I hope!” Dolly Parton made history back in the day because she was the first country singer to appear in the magazine. However, she was clear in her conditions and asked to not be naked (as it was the usual fashion)
“I have been asked, back in the day, but that was so totally not me. I would never do that,” she told Chicago’s US99 radio station in 2011. “But that was a good article they ran in there, and it was just a fun thing to do.” She added, “That was just another way I was trying to market myself, at that time, to kinda get in the mainstream.”
Dolly Parton and Carl Thomas Dean have been married since 1966. “I’ve been married for 53 years come next May, and my husband and I have a great relationship,” she told People in 2018. “I always joke and laugh when people ask me what’s the key to my long marriage and lasting love. I always say ‘Stay gone!’ and there’s a lot of truth to that. I travel a lot, but we really enjoy each other when we’re together and the little things we do.”
