Oops, she did it again! Britney Spears is taking reign on her social media after fans claimed that her platforms were being controlled by her dad Jamie Spears and since then, the American singer has not stopped roasting people, and fans are loving it.
In her latest post shared on Insta, Britney Spears shared to her more than 35 million fans a clip where we can see her wearing several outfits and trying on the ones she likes most. While this is not a new occurrence since we already know that the pop singer really likes to post videos with her fans, what is really interesting is that she is somehow shading her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
At some point in the video, she tries a hat and well, you will need to read the caption to see our point here “Hmmmm something looks familiar …. The hat? …. wait I look like that girl in the Justin Timberlake video with that hat in Cry Me A River !!! Oh shit that’s ME !!! I’m Britney Spears” the singer captioned.
Needless to say that her fans went crazy after this comment and let her know it on her comment section calling her The Princess of Pop and Shade. “Here for the sassy Britney!!!” wrote a fan while another added “A person reclaiming their identity after the patriarchy has stolen it from her time and time again. This is glorious. Her mind is strong” and a third one added, “Get him, Britney!”
The song Britney is referring to here is 'Cry Me A River' which was released back in 2002 following Timberlake and Spears' split. he breaks into the home of a blonde woman wearing a gray pageboy hat while singing about her alleged infidelity and filming himself in compromising acts with another woman.
Years later, in 2011 Britney addressed the video for the first time in an interview with Rolling Stones and revealed that she was very hurt by the whole ordeal. "He called me up and behind it was, 'And by the way, you’re in a video that’s coming out. Don’t worry about it. It’s not a big deal.'
Britney then continued.“So the record label called and said, 'If you want to change this, you can.' I had the power to say no to the video. But I didn’t, because I thought, 'Hey, it’s your video.' I hadn’t seen it. Then it came out, and I said, 'I should’ve freakin’ said no to this s**t!' I was so like, 'Woah. What is going on right now?' I think it looks like such a desperate attempt, personally. But that was a great way to sell the record. He’s smart. Smart guy."
This shade comes after just mere days ago Britney shaded her own sister Jamie Lynn Spears and the alleged book memoir she is releasing not only because she is declaring that she suffered a lot but because the first title was one of Britney's lyrics.
