Every year we have expectations when talking about the half time Super-Bowl show, (this year to be celebrated in Tampa Bay) And every year we ask the same question: Who´s going to sing during the halftime? This 2021 we probably thought such extraordinaire event might be cancelled due to Covid and everything around the world, but have no fear because we have some news about the who and the what and the where concerning this show.

Having three No.1 albums and several No.1 singles, no other than The Weeknd is the star performing during this special event. Abel Makkonen Tesfaye professionally known as The Weeknd is a Canadian songwriter, singer and producer. Anonymously, he began uploading his songs on Youtube around 2010, and in 2012 he signed with Republic Records. This was just the beginning of his musical journey because The Weeknd has won several awards such as three Grammy Awards and nine Billboard Music Awards.

The singer is well know for his mature content (like drugs and violence) “I don’t like to spoon-feed the audience, hopefully, they can pick up some of their own theories and conclusions of what the show is saying and the story I’m telling in the performance.” he told reporters in a news conference Thursday

His manager Wassim "Sal" Slaiby also revealed that the artist put in $7 million of his own pocket to "make this halftime show be what he envisioned. “Due to COVID and for the safety of the players and the workers, we built the stage within the stadium,” he said. “We’re also using the field as well, but we wanted to do something we’ve never done before, so we built the stage in the stadium. I’m not going to tell you anything else because you’ll have to watch on Sunday.”

“For sure, I definitely want to be respectful to the viewers at home,” he said. “I will still incorporate some of the storyline. It’s a very cohesive story I’ve been telling throughout this era and throughout this year. So the story will continue, but definitely we’ll keep it PG for the families". To reinforce these statements, Adam Harter, PepsiCo Vicepresident told the media “Sunday will be unlike anything we’ve seen on the halftime show before, and as you know, we’ve seen a lot of things on this stage over the years”

Let´s remember that some legends have perfomed on this event, naming a few are Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Madonna, Lady Gaga, The WHO and Bruno Mars.
Rumors previously mentioned spanish singer Rosalia would sing alongside the Weeknd however it has been denied.

Sunday, February 7th is when we all have a date, The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2021 Super Bowl.
