Another year, another MTV VMA Awards! This year we are seeing many known faces as nominees and truly, every single one of them should be a winner. The ones who lead the list of nominations in Justin Bieber with seven and then we have Megan Thee Stallion with six nods. However, they are followed by seven artists with five nominations each. Sounds interesting right?

The ones following are Billie Eilish, BTS, Doja Cat, Drake, Lil Nas X, Giveon, and Olivia Rodrigo (who by the way is her first time ever nominated). Other first-timers include The Kid LAROi and 24kGoldn, who got nods in multiple categories, including best new artist for both, song of the year for Goldn's breakthrough hit "Mood," and Push performance of the year for LAROi's "Without You" set in April of this year.

The top prize of the Awards is the Best Video of the year category, and the contenders include  Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's "WAP," DJ Khaled, and Drake's video featuring Justin Bieber "POPSTAR," Doja Cat and SZA's "Kiss Me More," Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits," Lil Nas X's "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" and The Weeknd's Save Your Tears. As for the artist of the year category, Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, Taylor Swift (again), Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Bieber, and Megan Thee Stallion are the ones competing here.

Fans can start voting in the 14 categories starting Wednesday at MTV.com. This will be the first “fan-filled awards” since New York's recent reopening “The health and safety of artists, fans, staff, and partners remain the number one priority, and MTV and Barclays Center are working closely with state and local officials to implement best practices in order to safely bring together music fans from around the globe," read a press release about the efforts to put on a COVID-safe event
