You might know who Lily Collins is probably because her dad is Phil Collins, or probably because of her films including 'Love, Rosie,' 'Abduction' and 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.' and more recently we have seen British-American actress thriving after her success in the Netflix series 'Emily In Paris' however, most of the fans that know her for some time know could not contain their comments on social media showing how worried they were because she looked too thin.
"Lily Collins' weight, or lack thereof, is very distracting this season. I hope she’s getting the help she needs," tweeted one fan while another added “Did Lily Collins lose more weight in Season 2? Hope she's doing well." While nothing has been officially confirmed or denied, fans are starting to worry because in the past Lily Collins suffered an eating disorder.
More specifically, Lily Collins suffered anorexia nervosa, and talked about it back in 2017 when she portrayed someone suffering this disease in 'To The Bone.' During the film, she no longer was suffering anorexia but decided to talk candidly about the eating disorder in order to embrace and help others who suffered the same as her.
In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Lilly Collins revealed that she suffered anorexia when she was younger but through time she learned to heal. "When I was younger, I wanted to reach this image of what I thought perfection was and I equated that with – well, with what you see in the media; you think body shape has to a lot do with being perfect.”
Lily Collins weight loss was a complete concern for her but she also added that she started to change in a positive way when she realized that she wanted to have a family in the future, despite she wanted to control what she was eating to pursue that perfection.
“I wanted to control how I got there. At that time, I was dealing with high school and relationships, and you're very out of control at that stage in your life. How do you feel in control? Well, I controlled how I ate and looked. Then, as I grew older, I realized that perfection doesn't exist and my priorities have shifted because I want a family one day. I don't want these self-imposed issues to affect whether or not I can have kids – because the reality is you can't have children when you're ill like that."
In another interview with Shape, Lily Collins weight loss was detailed in an interview with the actress and admitted that he realized that a perfect body is one that is healthy. "But healthy now is how strong I feel. It’s a beautiful change because if you’re strong and confident, it doesn’t matter what muscles are showing. Today I love my shape. My body is the shape it is because it holds my heart."
