To celebrate Thanksgiving, American singer Billie Eilish is urging her fans and followers on social media to take into consideration that this important date could be celebrated in a very different way.

It is well known that the meaning of Thanksgiving is to be grateful and acknowledge all the favors and benefits we received. It is also known that it's been celebrated since 1621 and yet, Billie Eilish is asking to change a very important aspect on this date.

Shared on her social media to her more than 96 million followers, Billie Eilish posted a snap on her Insta stories where we can be seen cradling a turkey, adding a thoughtful message. "Turkeys are some of the most gentle creatures in the world," the singer captioned "And 46 million of them are killed every Thanksgiving."

She also added that she is aware that it is hard to try to change traditions but it is something that she wants you to keep in mind, just in case you did not know. In the picture, we can see that she is sporting her previous look which included black and green hair. She also wears a face mask, grey t-shirt, and black shorts.

Probably you did not know, but Billie Eilish is vegan since she was a kid. In fact, just a couple of weeks ago she, Joaquin Phoenix, and many other celebs including Ricky Gervais and Rooney Mara signed a petition requesting President Biden allow this year's pardoned turkey to stay at Farm Sanctuary. Other famous petitioners are Natasha Lyonne, Margaret Cho, Dave Bautista, Mena Suvari, Alan Cumming, Maggie Baird, and Mayim Bialik.

"As we approach the holiday season — meant to be a time of gratitude and goodwill — we hope you'll accept our offer to provide sanctuary and the best life possible for pardoned turkeys," the petition stated.

Despite what she has been doing, she has also declared in a previous interview with British Vogue that she does not want to tell people what to do, and that she even has a lot of friends that eat meat, but that she could not find it in her to go back to her previous life.

“I just can’t go on in my life knowing what’s going on in the animal world and, like, not doing anything about it.” the 'Bad Guy' singer said. “Once you know that kind of thing and you see it, it’s really hard to go back,” Eilish said.

Billie Eilish really works hard to raise awareness in the world. Back in September, she dropped her very own vegan sneakers with Nike. Both Air Jordan designs are 100% vegan and made up of more than 20% recycled material. “You can make cool s—t and you don’t have to be wasteful,” she said.
