Recently, we have seen American singer Britney Spears in the headlines most of these days. Sometimes because of the conservatorship she has endured because of her dad Jamie Spears, other times because of her cryptic posts on social media, and more recently for sharing the happy news that after five years dating Sam Asghari, they finally got engaged.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, Britney Spears no longer graces us on social media where she had 33 million followers more or less. Does this mean her dad finally took down her account? Was she hacked? Something bad happened to her? Not exactly.
In recent posts, we have seen Britney dancing around, posting subtle messages against his dad and family (Jamie Lynn, we are looking at you), and even has been tagging fellow stars like Iggy Azalea and Selena Gomez. However, the 'Toxic' star has decided to take down his IG account. Why could it be?
Per Page Six, a source has declared that “She’s happy and in a great place,” the source said, adding, “and silence can be a powerful thing and a powerful message” explaining that “This was her decision.” The source also added that Britney is taking a well-needed time off from social media “in light of the successful path that she’s been on and continues to be on following the news of her engagement.”
Matthew Rosengart, Britney's lawyer also confirmed this separately declaring that it was his client’s choice to take a social media break. Should we be surprised by this? Not entirely. Let's remember that Britney has not been around social media, and even she recently revealed that she recently got her first iPad ever.
However, her decision comes after the engagement news where most of the fans were happy for her, but many more urged her to make Sam Asghari, her longtime boyfriend, sign a prenup to protect her assets reminding her what happened in the past with Kevin Federline, the father of her two kids.
In fact, the one to start this thread was the actress Octavia Spencer who, instead of congratulating her simply wrote 'Make him sign a prenup.' His comment was noticed and nearly reached 100k likes. Hours later SamAsghari sarcastically confirmed that they were doing a prenup to save his shoe collection.
Anyway, as sad as it sounds Britney Spears has a lot to celebrate apart from her engagement, and even if we miss her dancing around we might spot her in the future in one of Sam Asghari's posts. More recently, her dad Jamie Spears finally (finally!) filed to end her conservatorship but we will have to wait until the judge approves this. Meanwhile, we will have to wait, and even if you can't handle missing her, you can go and watch her old music videos.
