We recently watched Tom Holland portray Peter Parker a.k.a Spider-Man in 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' alongside Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. However, it seems that being the youngest friendly neighborhood has certain advantages and disadvantages at the same time.
Being Spider-Man sounds like a very busy job no matter how old or how experienced you are in doing it. To prove this point, in a recent interview Tom Holland revealed that his mom, Nikki Holland, had to chime in a very delicate topic with Marvel Producers.
Now, being in a super production like the Marvel Cinematic Universe means that you must fulfill certain clauses, like staying fit, working at almost all hours, keeping the secret on what you are working on, and even, missing some toilet breaks.
During a special appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan, Tom Holland revealed a very hilarious story about how his mom called Spider-Man producers and asked them to give Tom Hollan more toilet breaks.
Ryan Seacrest revealed that he had worn a Spiderman suit before, to which Tom Holland asked if the said suit had a zipper. "And you know what I mean by 'a zipper,' " Holland said.
Then, Tom Holland revealed that when he was shooting his first Spider-Man movie back in 2017, he wore the suit for more than 11 hours a day. And, as you guessed, the suit had no zipper.
"On the first movie, I remember we were shooting this sequence on the stack on the Washington Monument, and I was in the suit for days at a time, sort of 11 hours a day and I was young and wanted to impress the studio, and didn't want them to think I needed breaks," Holland began.
As a devoted son, Tom Holland called his mom every single day, and one day, in a very awkward way the actors admitted to his mom that he was struggling because he could not go to the bathroom because of the suit.
"I remember calling my mom up on our daily phone calls, and I was like, 'Mom, I'm really struggling, I'm working every day, and because I wear the suit, I can't go to the bathroom,' " he continued. "And then two days later the producer came up to me and was like, 'How are your kidneys?' "
Tom told the producers that his kidneys were fine but when asked why the question he received the answer. "Well, your mom called us…" the producer said. So, it's safe to say that Nikki Holland still takes care of his kid, no matter the age. "Yeah, so my mom called up the biggest studio in the world and was like, 'Give my son more toilet breaks!' " Holland said while the audience laughed.
