Tiffany Haddish Arrested For DUI, Allegedly Falling Asleep At The Wheel - Smiles In Mugshot

According to some sources, the actress has been struggling with some mental and emotional distress, following the loss of several loved ones

Actress Tiffany Haddish is now facing a DUI charge. According to TMZ, the comedian was arrested early on Friday morning by Peachtree City Police Department officers in Georgia. According to some reports, local law enforcement received a call this morning about a driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel.

Thanks to the description of the vehicle, the police were on the lookout and spotted Tiffany's car “pulling into a neighborhood.” Afterwards, the star was arrested for improper stopping on a roadway and DUI; as per reports from the outlet, law enforcement sources say she was under the influence of marijuana.

It seems that the aforementioned arrest took place around 4 AM, and Tiffany was only held in custody a short time before posting bond (a reported $1,666) at around 6:30 AM. Despite the unfortunate event, the actress managed to offer a grin for her mugshot [which you can take a look at below:

Tiffany Haddish is currently working in Georgia, filming Disney's upcoming reebot for 'Haunted Mansion' with co-stars Owen Wilson, Rosario Dawson, Danny Devito, and LaKeith Stanfield. So far, this is the second attempt from Disney to make a movie after the extremely popular attraction at Disneyland. The first film, which came out back in 2003, and had Terence Stamp, Eddie Murphy, Nathaniel Parker and Jennifer Tilly.

Some sources have come out and suggest that Tiffany Haddish's mental state may have been affected by recent losses. For instance, her grandmother who raised her, friends Bob Saget and Carl Craig [a producer], as well as the loss of her dog. According to the outlet, even though there is no excuse for driving impaired, undoubtedly grief and possible long shooting hours may be some of the factors leading to the morning's events.

So far, Tiffany Haddish's representatives have not come forward to comment on her arrest. As the situation develops, they will turn out for sure to send out a statement or some kind of information regarding the incident.

Just a few weeks ago, Tiffany Haddish revealed to have spent the holiday season by going to be with loved ones in Eritrea. At the time, an aunt of the actress was dying, but she also wanted to pay a visit to her family. According to what the actress shared on Christmas Eve, this wasn't an easy journey. Especially since she detailed to have experienced some unpleasant treatment with Turkish Airlines while trying to get there. This, unfortunately, was not the first time. She ended up traveling more than 24 hours to see her family.

The actress went on and detailed the whole trip on her Instagram account, from her personal relatives encounters to the majestic landscapes out there. Tiffany ended up receiving all kinds of lovely messages on the comments section.
