This has been a tough year for the entertainment industry. Movie theaters shut down during the pandemic, and several big movies saw their release dates pushed back for better times. However, the Academy decided to follow Hollywood's maxim “The Show Must Go On”, and grant awards to those movies that represent the best within the film industry in the last year.

This year, the film that received most nominations is David Fincher's 'Mank', with 10 nods from the Academy. Tied with 6 nominations are the films 'The Father', 'Judas and the Black Messiah', 'Minari', 'Nomadland', 'Sound of Metal' and 'The Trial of the Chicago 7'. Here's the complete breakdown of the winners for the 93rd Academy Awards, a ceremony that was certainly different, aimed to attract a younger audience.
