After a long time, Megan Thee Stallion is finally talking about the night Tory Lanez shoot her and the subsequent trauma she has faced after the awful incident that happened back in July 2020.
The Grammy Award-winning Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, talked in an interview with Gayle King and while there she narrated the night that Tory Lanez shot her while being at a party at Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles.
Megan Thee Stallion revealed that they were at a party and in a very relatable move, she wanted to go and told this to her friends. "It was an argument because I was ready to go and everybody else wasn't ready to go, but that's like normal friend stuff. We fuss about silly stuff all the time,"
The rapper then adds that she said this in a very casual tone, implying that things should not have escalated for this. "It was an argument because I was ready to go and everybody else wasn't ready to go, but that's like normal friend stuff. We fuss about silly stuff all the time."
Megan then details that they were outside where her car was parked and Tory Lanez started to shout at her and argue, later shooting at her feet. "So, I get out the car and it's like, everything happens so fast," she tells King. "And all I hear is this man screaming, he said, 'Dance, b—!' And he started shooting. I'm just like, 'Oh my god.' He shot a couple of times."
At this point, you can see that Megan gets emotional reliving what she has been through and admits that at the time she did not know what to do because she felt threatened. “I didn't even want to move. I didn't want to move too quick, 'cause I'm like, 'Oh my god, if I take the wrong step, I don't know if he could shoot something that's super important, I don't know if he could shoot me and kill me,' "
During a court hearing back in 2021, LAPD Det. Ryan Stogner stated that after the shooting apologized for shooting Megan and "offered her money and begged her to please not say anything" because he was already on probation.
Months after shooting Megan Thee Stallion, Tory Lanez was charged with assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. Since then, he has pleaded not guilty.
