Is he being cynical, hypocritic, or really sincere? Britney Spears is almost free from the conservatorship her father Jamie Spears inflicted on her for more than a decade. On September 29th it was finally announced by Britney's lawyer Mathew Ronsegart that Mr. Spears is now suspended and no longer manages the American singer's finances.
The world literally exploded after this was revealed and people were overwhelmed with joy, however, there seems to be someone who is not happy at all and that's Jamie Spears himself of course. A day after Judge Brenda Penny suspended him Jamie released a statement via his attorney, Vivian L. Thoreen.
Long story short, Jamie declared that he really loves his daughter no matter what and that he has always worked to do what is best for Britney. "Mr. Spears loves his daughter Britney unconditionally," the statement reads. "For 13 years, he has tried to do what is in her best interests, whether as a conservator or her father."
He then added that what he has done has been done because Britney agreed to it since the beginning including aspects of her career and even getting along with her two kids Jayden and Sean Preston. "This started with agreeing to serve as her conservator when she voluntarily entered into the conservatorship. This included helping her revive her career and re-establish a relationship with her children.”
The statement continues asking people's comprehension for someone who has “dealt” with someone with mental issues because “they can appreciate the tremendous amount of daily worry and work this required."
The tricky part comes when it is also declared that Jamie has been "biting his tongue and not responding to all the false, speculative, and unsubstantiated attacks on him by certain members of the public, media, or more recently, Britney’s own attorney."
The message supports this claim with a strong message that most fans did not take well "These facts make the outcome of yesterday’s hearing all the more disappointing, and frankly, a loss for Britney," the statement says. “Respectfully, the court was wrong to suspend Mr. Spears, put a stranger in his place to manage Britney’s estate, and extend the very conservatorship that Britney begged the court to terminate earlier this summer.”
The message continues explaining that it was in fact Jamie who asked for the conservatorship to end and not Mathew Rosengart. The next hearing is scheduled for November 2, and while it is correct that Jamie Spears was suspended and not removed, it is also true that Rosengart is investigating what Britney's father has managed her finances and in case something is not looking good, it is easier for them to point him as the guilty one.
While we all were celebrating all of these events on land, Britney was happily taking lessons on how to fly a plane. She shared an amazing clip on her social media where she also shared some palm trees. While she did not address directly the conservatorship or the final outcome she revealed that she was really happy at the moment.
