Few people are capable of identifying what triggers the best and the worst in their life. However, it may seem that John Cena has been able to point out all the things that have helped him during difficult time. According to the WWE wrestler, who made an appearance at “The Ellen Degeneres Show”, there was a time when he was going through a pretty down period, and the most surprising thing happened.
Four years ago, Cena recalled, he decided to have a very vulnerable moment and sent out to the world one of those thought-provoking posts on Twitter, as in the like of a journal entry. And then, he went on to talk about an inspirational excerpt from one of his new self-help books, titled “Be a Work in Progress: And Other Things I'd Like to Tell My Younger Self”. According to the wrestler, the passage resonated with the BTS fans, thanks to the similarities shared with the band's new album, titled “Love Yourself”.
At first, he didn't think it was a good idea to talk about vulnerability and the fact that people are enough and no one whould be ashamed of who they are. However, he continued, these messages caught fire thanks to the BTS army. According to “The Suicide Squad” star, the fact that the book is a reality is due to the fact that the BTS Army was very supportive during his vulnerable moments, and now it has become a part of his daily routine.
During his interview, Cena went on to talk about his books, mentioning that they are not intended for readers of a specific group, because no matter how old people are, they can find motivation to become their best possible self. “All of those statements, some of them are aspirational, but they all engage conversation. You're going to feel a certain way about each one and I think that's why the book is great for young readers because if you don't know how at home to maybe approach certain subjects, this is someone hopefully that your kids will gravitate towards and maybe can start that conversation”, he said.
By the end of the interview, Cena praised the boy band and said not only he really gotta thank K-Pop, but also BTS for being supportive of him, during a moment of weakness and turning it into a passion of his. The wrestler announced the book is finally out for purchase, and went to Twitter to share these exciting news.
We will be able to see John in the upcoming movie “The Suicide Squad”, which will be released on August 9. The film will have an ensemble cast which comprises Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis, Sean Gunn and Taika Waititi, among others.
