The release of the Snyder Cut is just around the corner, and this new version of the Justice League has been a long-waited film for viewers. Since it was announced, the movie has generated an enormous hype among fans and not-so-fans. Of course, people involved in this film know this, and they have taken any opportunity to increase the expectation in several ways.
Jared Leto is one of these people, who is back in a new sneak peek at his character's return for the upcoming re-cut film. The “Snyder Cut” will be released on HBO Max next month, and this highly anticipated new version of the controversial 2017 film will bring back Jared Leto's Joker, since he made his debut back in 2016 for Suicide Squad.
Several actors were called back to film additional footage for this film, and so were other new actors to portray other characters not included in the first cut of the film. Jared Leto, in this case, who will sport an alternate look for his portrayal as the supervillain, according to a photo Zack Snyder posted on Vero. The image, of course, immediatly went viral through all social media.
The photo shows the Clown Prince of Crime holding a trademark Joker's card with a gloved hand. The madman, in the background, has his face completely blurred; thus making it very difficult to tell how he'll actually look in Zack Snyder's Justice League. What we can say, though, is that his looks will be different from what he sported in Suicide Squad. Especially after all the backlash the movie experienced, but also his portrayal of the Joker. So this may be an opportunity for Leto to redeem himself with viewers and critics.
Snyder left the production of Justice League, due to a family tragedy. Then, it was Joss Whedon who came in to the project as a substitute for the director, albeit with a totally different vision for the film. Not only he arranged new reshoots for Justice League, but also changed several story elements and dropped major plots from the Snyder vision. Of course, this resulted in a Frankenstein Snyder couldn't even imagined.
However, the Studio granted him the opportunity to revisit the film and complete what he started back then, spending millions of dollars for this endeavor. For this re-work, Snyder has been working on heavy edits, restoring long-lost deleted scenes, but also shooting new footage such as the inclusion of Jared Leto's Joker.
We don't know if Leto will reprise his role of the Joker in an upcoming DC film; however, its cinematic universe keeps expanding with the creation of sequels for Aquaman and Wonder Woman. Thus making a possibility that Jared Leto could appear in any of these iterations.
