Being one of the most famous royals in the world and future King of England should come with a lot of advantages, right? Prince William has it all, a beautiful family, the love of her people, he is charming, he will rule a country, and he surely will be remembered in history books.

However, Oscar nominee Eddie Redmayne has revealed that despite Prince William being one of the nicest guys he has ever met, he really felt a little bit bad for him for certain things that happened in the past.

In case you have not heard, Prince William attended Eton College back in the 90s and the world is so small that the royal was studying there at the same time as Eddie Redmayne. As expected, they share some extraordinary tales together.

While we all bet that at least a party happened around those years of them studying together, more situations happened that will bring you mixed feelings since you will not know if you want to laugh or give William a hug.

In a heartfelt declaration, we have learned that Eddie Redmayne felt sorry for Prince William when they were young studying at Eton. The prestigious all-boys boarding school is located near Windsor and was founded by William’s ancestor Henry VI of England.

At this point, you probably might think that Prince William was struggling with personal life, adulthood, or royalty, but in fact, it was something more pedestrian.

Eddie Redmayne made a special appearance on an episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, and while there, the actor revealed that the Duke of Cambridge suffered a lot when they played rugby because everyone wanted to hit, push or have contact with him so they could be able to say that they interacted with the royal.

“I did play rugby with Prince William” Redmayne clarified. “I always felt a bit sorry for him because basically any school you’d play, all they wanted to do was tackle Prince William in order for them to say ‘I tackled Prince William,’” Redmayne joked. “So, if you were standing next to Prince William, it was actually quite easy and quite fun!”

However, this is not the first time that Eddie talked about this anecdote. Back in 2015 he talked with Glamour and explained that Prince William was an extraordinary being, but sadly he always got all the hits.“We were on the same rugby team at Eton College,” he said of Prince William. “He’s a wonderful man. I always felt slightly sorry for him because everyone wanted to tackle the future king of England. He took all the hits.”
