Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are not only fighting in court, but their lawyers are also feuding publicly releasing statements against each other. The Aquaman star has been speaking in court and has testified that the Pirates of The Caribbean has hit her and sexually abused her with a vodka bottle. Now, her lawyers and responding with a statement.
Long story short, Johnny Depp's lawyers said that Amber Heard is giving the performance of her life on the stan while giving testimony. Amber Heard's lawyers did not like this for obvious reasons and released their statement slamming Johnny Depp for not having the courage to look at Amber Heard while revealing the atrocities she allegedly lived with the actor.
The statement released by Johnny Depp to TMZ claims that "while Ms. Heard's stories have continued to grow new and convenient details, Mr. Depp's recollections have remained exactly the same throughout the six painful years since her first allegations were made."
They added that they are looking forward to cross-examination since it will be "most telling, and will certainly highlight the many fallacies Ms. Heard has now attempted to pass off as fact throughout her convoluted testimony."
Amber Heard's team is replying with force saying that if Depp has not changed his story as they say, he should consider a new approach to win this time rather than the recycled approach of attacking the victim, and refusing to take responsibility for his own conduct," the statement continued.
The statement continued. "One of Ms. Heard's disappointments is Mr. Depp's inability to distinguish fact from fiction — a malady which appears to have spread to his legal team," it adds. " That same team is so panicked, they are fighting tooth and nail to prevent compelling evidence and photos from being introduced."
If that was not enough, Amber Heard's lawyers also criticize Johnny Depp for not having "the fortitude or courage" to look at during the trial, and "instead he doodles and snickers." They conclude, "Mr. Depp's behavior in this trial has been as pitiful as it was in their marriage. Apparently, they feel they must double-down on their demonstrably losing two-part strategy: distract the jury and demonize the victim."
Fans have been debating on social media if Johnny Depp not looking at Amber Heard is a good or bad thing. According to most, it appears that he is trying to somehow cope since he appears to be the victim. For example, one Twitter user wrote "what Johnny Depp is doing in court right now is admirable. he won't look at her, he listens and chats with his lawyers while doodling on his notebook as a coping mechanism. I am sick to my stomach watching from home, can't imagine how he must be feeling."
