During the infamous defamation trial, which has put Johnny Depp and Amber Heard on the frontline, the latter decided to suddenly drop Kate Moss' name. This was in a moment when she alleged the actor once pushed the British supermodel down the stairs.
It has been a rough week for Amber Heard, since it was her turn to take the stand, and during the second day of her testimony in Farifax, Virginia, the 36-year-old actress made the aforementioned claim as she detailed some other slew of violent vights she allegedly had with Johnny Depp over the course of their sour romance.
According to the 'Aquaman' star, who went on to describe the horrible moment when she punched Depp in the face for the first time out of fear he was going to shove her sister Whitney down a staircase, Kate Moss was in a very similar situation at one point.
Heard detailed how she and her then-husband had been fighting on the mezzanine of the stairs in one of his many penthouses, back in March 2015. And that's when her sister got in between them. “She threw herself in the line of fire,” Amber recalled of her sister's actions, and continued: “She was trying to get Johnny to stop. Her back was to the staircase, and Johnny swings at her.”
“I don't hesitate and wait – I instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs.”
In case you don't remember, Moss and Depp were in a relationship between 1994 and 1998. However, this is not the first time Amber Heard has made the Kate Moss staircase allegation, as she did so back in 2020, when she testified during Depp's other defamation trial, which took place in the UK.
As per what Amber Heard told, describing the same fight involving her sister, the actress told the British court at the time: “I remembered information I had heard [that] he pushed a former girlfriend – I believe it was Kate Moss – down the stairs. I had heard this rumor from two people and it was fresh in my mind.”
In that trial, in fact, Depp's lawyers accused Heard of fabricating the Moss “rumor” and dropping it into her testimony at the last minute out of spite. In fact, at the time the lawyer said Heard had never previously mentioned the claim, including in her deposition and witness statements ahead of that trial.
Up to this point, Kate Moss hasn't ever publicly addressed Heard's claim that Johnny Depp pushed her down the stairs. In fact, Heard is defending herself in Virginia against claims she defamed Depp when she wrote a 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post describing herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse.”
